‘In a Flash’ captures tension of corporate cyber breach

DLA Piper returned to Videobred and Joanna Hay Production in 2015 to produce a high-end corporate drama to train personnel at some of the largest corporations in the world on the need for cyber security planning.

In a Flash! (A Lesson in Cyber Security) is a fictional drama depicting a corporation dealing with multiple cyber security issues. Major themes covered in the film include:

  • cyber governance
  • cyber-risk management
  • security protocols
  • incident response plans
  • corresponding legal and regulatory environment faced by board members, general counsel, and senior business executives
the delicate balance of managing internal investigations, reporting requirements, and stakeholder interests.

Cyber security is top-of-mind among virtually every company in the world due to media coverage of recent high profile breaches. DLA Piper attorneys will use the film to educate corporate leaders on the importance of advanced preparation.

Hay, along with Videobred’s Alan Manias and Tim Sanford worked with a team of DLA Piper attorneys and staff to craft a realistic and provocative storyline. The 50-minute film, styled after a network drama, was shot at various locations throughout Louisville including Doe Anderson Advertising, Indatus, Wild Rita’s Modern Mexican and Tequila, Harvest, Mindsalt, Commonwealth Bank, Gwin Steinmet & Baird PLLC and Embassy Suites Downtown. A cast of more than 50 actors who auditioned for In a Flash! (A Lesson in Cyber Security) from throughout the Midwest and the South convened this spring for the production.

DLA Piper produced the highly successful At What Cost film with Videobred in 2012. The Telly Award winning 45-minute drama has engaged board members, executives and corporate attorneys around the globe on the potential pitfalls of dysfunctional corporate governance. Both films are subtitled in multiple languages including Spanish and Chinese for presentation to international audiences.

DLA Piper is one of the five largest law firms in the world serving multi-national, Global 1000 and Fortune 500 companies in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East as well as government and public sector institutions.
